Dinosaurs in Costa Rica

Think Jurassic Park. Foggy, leafy green jungles full of dinosaurs at every turn. But, dinosaurs in Costa Rica?? Yep.
No, we're not crazy. There are dinosaurs in Costa Rica. Seriously. They're in lush Rinc√≥n de la Vieja National Park in Northern Guanacaste, just 100 km north east of our condo in Playas del Coco. Check it out!

Blue River Resort is home to Dino World where full-size dinosaurs come to life in their natural rain forest habitat. This family friendly theme park has 22 dinos on display including a velociraptor, spinosaurus and a famous brachiosaurus, above. They move, they blink and they roar. Run!!

It's recommended you purchase one-day tickets to Dino World in advance, due to popularity, and they're available for $45 per adult, $35 for kids 12 and under. For another $10 bucks, you can add lunch - but even better than that is the $25 upgrade which includes access to Blue River Resort's hot springs and mud treatment, along with their botanical and butterfly gardens. Spa treatments are also available!

As the gateway to Costa Rica's Pacific coast, Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport of Liberia is a central starting point for a great vacation in Costa Rica. This modern and newly expanded facility welcomes a growing list of airlines each year due to the popularity of this most beautiful and diverse area.

Landing in Liberia means you can be at your beach destination in about 20 minutes - Playas del Coco is the nearest beach town where locals and visitors alike enjoy a laid back atmosphere but with all the amenities at hand. RentOurCostaRicaCondo in Playas del Coco for as little as $57 per night - brand new with ocean views!

While it's not something any traveler wants to think about, having access to a nearby medical facility is an important, but usually neglected, part of any trip abroad. Liberia has a brand new state-of-the-art international hospital, CIMA Guanacaste, to serve the needs of the Pacific Coast as well as for medical tourism.

Liberia Airport transportation to Playas del Coco can easily be arranged upon arrival - passengers can simply catch the city bus into Playas del Coco or take a private airport shuttle van. Liberia Airport is 136 miles away from San Jose (approximately 3-1/2 to 4 hours driving time).
